California
Real Estate Principles - 17th Edition
An ideal introductory text for
beginning real estate students and an excellent study guide for those
taking the state license exam.
The 17th edition of California Real Estate Principles by Walt Huber addresses some of the biggest changes in the real estate industry in years. Our last edition dealt with the new bias and fair housing education requirements mandated by state law, and this edition covers equally important new information.
As a result of a NAR antitrust lawsuit, much has changed in terms of the buyer broker relationship. Although California has always allowed negotiation in regard to commissions, the new policy eliminates the common practice of publishing the commission split in the MLS that a seller's broker will pay to the broker who finds a buyer for the property. Real estate practitioners are scrambling to figure out how to abide by new rules, and we do our best to simplify the process for our readers.
We have included the main eight forms used in the CAR Listing Agreement bundle and the nine forms used in the CAR Purchase Agreement bundle. In Chapter Four you'll find the newly created Buyer Compensation Advisory (BCA) and a new section on Buyers Agency, including the updated Buyer Representation and Broker Compensation Agreement (BRBC). 622 pages.

Real Estate Finance 9th Edition
This new, full-color 9th edition of Real Estate Finance by Walt Huber and Walt Zozula
demystifies the intricate world of borrowing and lending across the nation. It encompasses the
latest updates that have influenced the real estate lending market since the last publication of
this best-selling textbook. Among these topics are the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic on
the housing and lending industry, as well as the surge in natural disasters across the country,
including numerous devastating California wildfires.
In these rapidly evolving financial markets, keeping up with yearly or even daily changes can
be challenging. However, understanding the market's fundamentals can make the
expectations of its ebbs and flows more manageable. We will experience highs and lows, but
there are always corrections when the wind blows too hard in one direction. This textbook
offers a thorough yet straightforward guide to navigating the lending industry.
New forms, new laws, but old-fashioned common sense will keep you afloat. Whether you are
preparing for a salesperson/broker exam, appraisal license exam, NMLS license exam, or
simply wish to understand the intricacies of borrowing for real estate, this book is your
indispensable guide.
